Alpha Phi Omega

History

This national co-ed service fraternity was born out of a strong boy scouting tradition. The first chapter of APO was founded at Lafayette College in Eaton, Pennsylvania by Frank Reed Horton. While he was in the U.S. Navy and he witnessed the troubling affects of war on his community. He then decided that it was his duty to help young people get a good start in life by holding up a "standard of manhood," that would sustain the test of time. Through years of hard work and vigilance, hundreds of chapters of APO have sprung up all over the world, inspiring and supporting the dreams of college students.

- President Heismeyer

Most recently Fred Heismeyer was named President of APO. He works as a Product Engineer for the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan. Under his leadership we have grown to embrace new technology like e-giving to support the mission of our brotherhood.
